Do you need to obtain your IELTS certification in Malta?

Here’s all you need to know about studying English and achieving your IELTS in Malta.

With 20 years of experience and many successful IELTS stories, BELS can guide you through your IELTS Malta journey, both academically (through individual lessons ) and by helping you with your application process.

1. IELTS Malta Application Process

To apply, submit an IELTS application form together with a copy of a valid identity document and the full payment. This can be done through online registration (IELTS Malta online application here). Alternatively, you could apply for IELTS manually by collecting an application from The Malta Chamber of Commerce Enterprise and Industry, or downloading a copy form here.

It is important to officially submit your application to IELTS Malta as soon as you decide on the test date session since the number of places is limited. Note that the applications close before the indicated closing date once all available places are booked. Once the application has been submitted you will receive a confirmation email.

Advise IELTS as soon as possible in case of a disability or other condition.

2. IELTS Malta Payment, Cancellations and Refunds

The fee per candidate is €205 for 2017. Payments can be made by cash, credit card, bank transfer or cheque. Cheques are to be made payable to “The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry”. Application forms will only be considered complete once the payment has been made.

If the exam is cancelled more than 5 weeks before the rest date, applicants will be given a refund of €150. If you’d like to postpone your application more than 5 weeks before the exam date, an additional administration fee of €55 must be paid.

3. IELTS Malta Results

You’ll receive your results 13 calendar days after your test day. Results are usually posted by registered mail. If you prefer, you could also collect them personally by hand (IELTS Malta must be advised of this in advance). There’s also the opportunity to see your IELTS score online (IELTS Malta online results here). You’d need to enter your test date, date of birth, identification document number and candidate number to do so.

4. IELTS Malta Preparation Courses

IELTS is a difficult exam to prepare for – it tests your level of English and academic skills at the same time.  Since there is an examination fee, and a waiting period to reapply if you fail, it’s important to take the preparations seriously. At BELS we can provide a preliminary test to find out your level, and offer guidance on what you need to do to successfully obtain the score needed. We can help you prepare through our IELTS preparation courses as part of a group, or individual lessons. It’s also possible to combine IELTS courses with general English courses to improve your fluency and obtain a higher score on the test.
